Looking to upgrade. I have the sun dolphin 10 foot sit on top deal right now and its light weight and I can carry it around my self which is important because most of my trips are solo. Just wondering if a 12 foot is gonna be too much to carry around for one person or if the stability is gonna be worth the hassle. I like to fly fish so I’m trying to have standing be an option aswell.

GuestMay 18, 2021 at 11:49 pmI’d say just go for the 12ft. I have a 12ft sit on and I don’t have any issues moving it around (granted I do have a pickup), and if you want stability I think the extra size would be worth it.
Only reason I wouldn’t upgrade to a 12ft is if it’s not in your budget.

GuestMay 18, 2021 at 11:49 pmlook at the weights of the boat. anything over 70lbs is a bear to move around. I prefer 10fts

GuestMay 18, 2021 at 11:49 pmI have a 13ft Prowler… it’s a bit heavy… I carry it on my head to get it around (probably should use the wheels more 🤪) but I really like how fast it is, especially in wind or chop. I may lose some maneuverability but on the open ocean it really flies. But with ponds and small lakes, the 10ft may be better for turning.
