Thanks for reminding me. I have friends fighting for UAF, so I forgot June 6, 1944. My family mostly fought in Pacific (Marines, dad in Navy)

Isn’t it “ let’s forget”? I don’t want to forget. My great grandfather was there that day. Manning a pillbox on Yuma beach with his Mg3, many say he is a hero but not me. He was only trying to fend of the invading army, I think it was the Germans that landed there trying to take France. Anyway he killed a whole bunch of enemies and got to serve the remainder of his military career in some pow camp of sorts. He never did speak of his experiences we had to piece it together.
