    Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying to decide on what tikka t3x to buy, I am stuck between the varmint and the CTR. I have narrowed it down to these two mainly due to the fact I am planning on swapping the stock for a KRG whisky 3 gen 6 so there is no point in buying the Tac A1 but what I want to know does one have any specific advantages over the other, also I am in the UK so pricing is different for me. A CTR would cost about £1100 and a varmint would be about £1500.

Also I already have the scope and mount ready to go on the rifle I just need to get the rifle now, it’s a ZCO 527 and a Spuhr ISMS mount.

Thanks in advance for the help

CTR since it already has a threaded barrel. Always can upgrade to a thicker profile barrel later on.

CTR and a spare barrel in the closet for when you want to swap calibers. Seems worthwhile to invest the money you save and have multiple calibers.

I would get a CTR. As far as I can tell the only major difference in the barreled action is the cerakote.

    Double check the twist rates.

The varmint barrel is thicker and the CTR barrel is threaded.

    Why not a custom?
