I’m torn between the Aimpoint Pro vs the T2. It’s going to be mounted on a 13.9” rifle. My other main rifle is a 16” with LPVO. So I’m looking more of a CQB / short range rifle. Either optic will be mounted on a Scalarworks mount. Is there any real benefits to getting the T2 over the pro? Battery/Weight aside, is the glass any better? Can I fit a magnifier on the upper with the Pro should I choose to get one?

    Have both.

Battery life, battery commonality, and weight are the biggest advantages.

Yes, you can fit a magnifier behind the PRO. You will not be able to run BUIS though, if you care about that. Not enough room, at least with the stock mount. You might be able to run them with the Scalarworks mount.

I don’t think the glass is better, and dot crispness is one of those things that depends on the user.

Overall if you are trying to be budget minded, the PRO is a kickass choice. If you are willing to spend a little more, T-2. Btw, Sport Optics is running a sale on Aimpoint stuff right now. Can get a T-2 for like $660.

I had a PRO and absolutely loved it but that thing was a tank. The weight savings on a t2 is probably worth it. I upgraded to a compm5 and am very happy.

Yes to the magnifier with a PRO. Mine fit fine with a Vortex micro but I’m sure it would fit any of them.

I’ve never used a T-2 so i can’t speak on that, but there wasn’t really anything i was upset with on my PRO. I would think the big advantage to the T-2 minus weight saving would be the smaller footprint in your field of view. I don’t think that’s a big deal but I’m sure some people do.
