Piggyback for night vision, offset for no night vision

Always 12oclock. Holding a hallway with your non dominant side & shooting from the prone and under nods are easier.

I usually keep my LPVO at 4x for faster target ID at distance and use the red dot uptop for inside 50m.

Please correct me if my train of thought is wrong in anyway, but I piggyback my RDS on my LPVO personally because:

    1) Offset is not ambi. You’re stuck rotating to one side and SOL vice versa

    2) optic can get smoked out by sitting next to port door depending on what mounting option you use

    3) my mount is only 1.54” so the rds sits just a hair higher than a standard unity. So not bad at all actually

I’m not an operator. Just a bro who likes to LARP

Offset.. but personally I don’t run either, just an etched reticle.

Piggy back for sure. My dot on tops primary roll is passive night vision aiming, secondly it’s there for weird ass shooting positions or fast and close shooting, third I guess it’s there if the scope gets fucked up. I also run a closed emitter 509 ontop though because every open emitter optic I’ve used has ended up being useless for me where I live and how I use my shit🤷🏻‍♂️

Piggyback. I spent way too much time looking into it and people were arguing one is faster than the other. A lot of people also say that piggyback is good for NODs. I didn’t want my RMR getting smacked around or snagged in the offset position so I went piggyback and I’ll probably never try canted. It’s quick and I barely lift my face from my stock.

I’d encourage someone to go with what they think they’ll like best and train with it.

Piggyback. Puts the RDS nice and high for NVG use. I’ve never been a fan of offset sights or optics. Moving my head up feels more natural and intuitive than rotating the rifle.

My piggyback dot is primarily for convenience when transitioning between targets at distance. When my scope is set to a higher magnification for targets in the 4-600 yard range it is easy to put the dot on the target I’m transitioning to and then drop my head to the scope and already be lined up. Otherwise I would sometimes find myself going to glass just to have to dial back magnification to find the target again and then dial back up. Piggyback is smoother than offset for me when using the dot that way.
