It has recently come to my attention that when my grandfather died he left me one of his rifles, and after doing a little research I believe it is the Crown Custom MK5 300 Weatherby Magnum. According to my grandfather he purchased it for around $10,000 in 2004. It is in absolutely pristine, mint condition. Never been shot. Not a single scuff or scratch, no fading, no rusting, no pitting. Stored in a glass cabinet, literally not touched for the past 14 years until tonight when we pulled it out to take a look. It looks like it came out of the box five minutes ago.
Any guesses as to what it’s worth present day, or what it might be worth 5, 10, or 20+ years down the road?
