I like to set bank poles on the des moines River to catch channels and flathead. When we set poles at night, I like to use a spotlight so that I can see spots, poles, debris, etc.

Does anyone happen to know any good brands/lights with high lumens and a decent range?

    Thanks!

Check out r/flashlight for some good options, i would recommend the noctigon k1 with w2 emitter. Also, check the faq for a good list of headlamps (which is a must for night fishin imo)

Flathead catfish and bright lights do not mix. I would suggest a red head lamp or to set everything up early evening when you can still see everything. One bright light on the water and it’ll be a long time before the flathead come back. Red light doesn’t bother them, all I use when I fish for flathead is a red headlamp.
