It may direct blast inside the can differently causing wear but on such a small round, idk of this would be an issue unless you’re firing fa a lot over a very extended period. I also don’t know if the length helps stabilize or center the can any. Probably not but worth looking into first

I bet there’s an aftermarket option for that. Pretty sure reardon makes a short brake that also QDs to surefire.

Dont cut its tip off, it lessens sensation. Let it grow up and make that decision for itself.

So listen, I’m an absolute moron, no doubt about it. But I’ve got an SBR PS90 and I want to run a Surefire can. The measly 5.7 coming out of this space gun doesn’t need a brake so I don’t care about function, I just need the can mount and think the brake looks good. I think it’d look gooder chopped down a little tho.

Anyone ever been as dumb as me? This worth the ✨AESTHETIC ✨ or no?

    #Edit
Alright fine. Y’all have convinced me this is dumber than my usual box of stupid ideas. I’ll just live with extra long pp brake for these itty bitty 5.7 rounds.

SF brakes are hard as fuck.. Good luck cutting that. Aside from that, just take it off and put something else on.

Surefire cans, depending on caliber, index off of 2-3 specific points of the muzzle device. Cutting the muzzle device down is asking for a strike. And surefire would not want to warranty that, I’d wager.

Why the fuck would you do that to a $150 muzzle device. Just get a $30 muzzle brake and test it on that

I mean, it’s not something that anyone ever does but I can’t think of any way it would cause a problem.
