I bought the Romeo 5 the other day to tide me over for a little while. Instead of a dot, I’m getting a blob. Anyone ever experienced this before? This is my first red dot

I have a theory that red dots have diagnosed more cases of astigmatism than optometrists have.

Astigmatism…focus on the target and not the dot. Might clear it up a bit.

Sure you don’t have an astigmatism? Take a picture with a camera and see if it is a circle or blob.

If you have an astigmatism in your eye, that’s what you’ll see

If you want to rule out the optics being the issue, snap a pic of the ‘dot’ with your cell phone, if it looks like a perfect dot, the sight is fine.

Fwiw it turns out I have an astigmatism in both eyes, and the Romeo 5 diagnosed it

rotate the red dot while you look down it, if the blob does not rotate it’s your eyes

Take a picture of the dot with your phone camera. What does the dot look like through the phone camera lens?

You just self diagnosed Astigmatism or you’ve got the dot brightness set too high.

Welcome to the astigmatism tribe as someone else put it on another post. Lol

Flip up your rear sight, if you have one, look through it as a peep. Does the dot become crisp? If yes, you have astigmatism. If no, you Romeo is faulty or the setting is too high for the lighting.

I assume it’s my eyes because of multiple red dots with the same. And I have an implant in my right eye. (2.5X). Focusing helps. But I have a bunch of grapes instead of a blob.
