    Great clip! I feel that the Allied strategic bombing in the Pacific (aside from the B-29 air campaign in 1945) is so tragically overlooked.

    My dad was a navigator on B-24’s. They are really small up close when you think about bombers. The nose art on his was “Hula Wahini”. He flew over Germany and Romania I think. Got shot down once and had to belly land on a field in England. Thanks for this gif. I hadn’t thought about this time in his life in a while.

    I remember Truk Atoll from Battle 360: USS Enterprise. They called it the “Gibraltar of the Pacific”. It was the forward operating base of the Japanese fleet for the majority of the war
