Currently coyotes have been coming to my land and last night one broke into my chicken coop. I live in Wisconsin and need advice to hunt them. What should I use as bait

Your chickens are already the bait.

A couple of big dogs will keep them away, but any caliber between .223 and .260 is fine

YouTube “Coon Creek Outdoors” for good trapping tips, and get yourself a FoxPro predator call, and watch their YouTube videos for good hunting tips. Prepare to go down the rabbit hole, coyote hunting is super fun and involved and addicting! Best of luck!

The real solution is build a better coop so your animals are secure. Coyotes reproduce too fast to make a difference killing them.

Sounds to me like you need a pet donkey

Sit outside at night down wind of the coop or early in the am.

get another live chicken – tie a 6 ft line to one leg and stake it to the ground. tie a 200 ft line to the other leg and run it into a blind. in total darkness jerk the line around so the chicken is constantly moving and making noise. fix a good spotlight to a tripod or have a friend operate the light and be ready with a rifle… when you hear the chicken really start clucking and screaming flip the light on and take the shot.

I saw this a while ago . Get a huge treble hook like for ocean fishing. Hang it about five feet off the ground with some chicken on it with some heavier rope . Coyote tree ornaments 😃
