DC reels

So I’ve been using lews rods and reels religiously, from the speed spool to tournament pro and Mach reels, but I’ve recently been looking into shimano reels. Are the chips really worth it? I’m cool with fishing classic reels but at the same time I’ve never used a chip. Thoughts?

I swear by em, I have 2 SLX DC one on my dedicated chatterbait rod, it’s perfect for skipping and making accurate casts and for bombing it out in open water. And I have one on my frogging rod/a-rig rod. It helps cast smaller frogs better and makes a regular frog easier to cast on a stiff rod. Plus you can bomb it way out there when fishing huge mats.
