Do I need a license to hunt squirrels??
So for the past 4-5 days I have been watching A LOT of hunting videos, I want to hunt, but I am not exactly sure how to get a license, do I need one to hunt squirrel, literally in my backyard with a pellet gun???

In NY you do. They are protected.

Generally you need a hunting license yea, but no special tag or stamp.
Check your local DNR websites for rules, limits, seasons.

Check state laws and maybe call fish and wildlife cause it may be considered a pest since its your back yard. You may need one but if you call and say they are an issue you likely shouldnt

You most likely have to pay the hunting tax to the state in which you live to kill anything.

Yes you likely do, they also have to be In season. Also that isn’t really hunting that’s just called shooting a squirrel off the bird feeder in your backyard

I dont think you need one for your back yard. It’s pest control. No worries man.
