So I was at my buddies land and took a shot at a target. My dog had been by the house running around but decided to get right next to me as I pulled the trigger. He tucked his tail and ran. I thought it just scared him and everything was fine. Well fast forward about 3 hours and I begin to notice that he can’t really hear me. I’m hoping it’s just temporary. It was an AR9 and he was over my left shoulder about 3-5 feet away. Usually he stays about 150-200 yards behind us near the house but not this time. I can’t imagine one gunshot would cause a dog to go deaf but I’m starting to panic at this point. He’s a 2.5 year old lab/pit mix.
