Areas most people say that “look fishy”, many others say the same thing so it gets a lot of pressure. Whenever I see an obviously good spot and nothing is working I switch to finesse, regardless of fish activity. Neko rig, Ned rig, wacky rig, even a jerkbait.

Bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work. If the fish aren’t biting i change up my rigs run through a bunch of tackle also see how aggressive they want to be from a slow sink up to a crank

Depending on what I’m throwing, first, I slow my presentation down, to a crawl if I have to and work the bait faster to see if that works, twitching the bait will cause reaction bites if that is what the fish are after. I start with my presentation and switch that up versus changing lures and doing the same thing with my “next lure of choice.” I’m a religious soft plastic user myself, and use all kinds of different rigs and this is what I do if the bass are being finicky. Hope it helps and tight lines my friend.

Dude this is my life. I fished 8 days in the Adirondacks , zero fish…. 6 days in BWCA, zero fish… 6 days in Algonquin Canada, zero fish… I live on a tidal estuary, I catch very few fish. I’ve had fisherman come up to me in their $80k bass boat to give me tips and lures because they feel sorry for me. Some people just suck at fishing.

I’ll switch to live bait if plastics/lures aren’t working. Either turn over some rocks/logs and look for some worms, or catch some small sunnies on panfish rigs, and swap them over to larger hooks for juicy bass bait on a bobber.

variety. I try creature, worms, noisy, smaller, different colors, I’ll bust out some bass scent to entice them. Color can have insane effects in my experience. Senko Junebug or emerald flake, are my current go to.
