You really don’t need the front tie-down. The two ratchet straps (?) are enough. No need to risk damaging your paint

You got a close up off those mounts? Bought some with my kayak and they are just lying on the floor of the garage and instead I am using rolled up pieces of yoga mat

I used to roof mount. While driving I’d be constantly watching the straps front and back and watching the bow for any movement. Drove me nuts.
