Rookie question here so excuse my ignorance… what are the smooth plates your have on the side of your upper in place of rails called? And why are they used? I often see them on nice builds instead of rails

Did you have any trouble building yours? I’m asking because I’m actually thinking of purchasing a completed lower from aero Percision. And then buying an upper in the future. I am new to the AR platform, but from what’s around me and for the price I feel like I can get the parts and assemble it for a better quality AR.

Where did you get the AERO stuff from? I can’t find any. But I guess I’m looking for M5 stuff, maybe that’s different.

I just got the same upper from optics planet for 370$ after 10% for signing up with email. I don’t know how they sell it for so cheap when aero has them for 500$. Looks good! Can’t wait to throw mine together.
