Thought I’d share this because it’s definitely worth knowing.

When a Glock is used in a shooting, self defense or not, the gun is sent to Glock to be looked over. If your trigger is modified in any way, they will deem it an unsafe weapon. So if you’re going to carry a Glock with you, it may be worth not changing the trigger at all cuz no matter how justified you were in using your gun, you’ll need as much going for you in a court case as possible.

My CCW class instructor was a huge Glock guy and was certified with them in someway so he dropped quite a few knowledge bombs on us, this was one.

I’m pretty sure Glocks opinion of a modified trigger means fuckall. It can make a civil case more difficult but that is highly circumstantial and to be frank… if it isn’t a clear cut self defense shooting you would have more to worry about than justifying a trigger upgrade.

Glock doesn’t have time for that shit. Do you realize how many glocks there are in the world? I’m an engineer and don’t even believe half the shit I learned in chemistry class. Learn to judge everything you hear with reason

    Wrong

4 years ago I shot a rabid Coyote that charged at me and my (then) 2 year old daughter. Spent 3 hours in police custody before I was released with my Glock 26. During that time it never left the police car let alone getting sent to Georgia.

Few months later one of our armed security guards shot a copper thief that was chasing him with bolt cutters. He did try to mace the guy first, but it basically had no effect. Our guard fired 3 rounds, 1 missed the other 2 hit a rib and the guys hip. We got the weapon back a few years later. The chain of custody evidence card was still with the weapon (Glock 19) and showed that the only time it left the evidence locker was for the trial and for 10 minutes of ballistics testing and for finger printing. It was never sent to Georgia.

Is it possible that this could happens, yes. Does it happen often? No and I doubt it has ever has.

Dude probably took the Glock Armorer Class, which basically teaches that if the end user replaces anything on their own (even with the proper oem part), the firearm “can be” considered unsafe until property inspected and tested.

This is bs, having actually used my (modded) Glock in a self defense shooting, either 1: it’s not sent to Glock (my personal opinion given that the gun is now evidence and they’re not gonna officially let it leave lock up) or 2: glocks word means fuck all.
The police take possession of the gun, and there’s no definitive way of knowing what they do with it from that point on.

Lol, no. Unless you are doing something like making it fully auto, it doesn’t mean shit. Glock is just covering their ass with their statements, and it makes zero sense that a trigger upgrade would make your situation any less justifiable. Assuming it was true self defense, of course.

This just doesn’t even make sense. Whether or not your weapon is “unsafe” has nothing to do with you using it an an actual self defense shooting.
