  • Found some 9mm powder in stock on powder valley, so excited I had to share it.

This is the first time i’ve found powder suitable for 9mm in stock anywhere in EIGHTEEN MONTHS and they had a few random powders in stock if you look for it the right way, just thought I’d share it. It appears their “filter out of stock” feature is broken as it just returns no results. If you actually go through all like 18 pages or whatever of the powders they sell some of them are in stock, at least they were the other day. I had to go to like page 11 or something before I found some powders in sock that i could use.

I ordered 2 pounds of winchester 244 but they also had some VV powder that would be good for 9mm.

I don’t know if this is big news but ammo and primers and bullets have been somewhat available finally for the last month or two but powder has been absolutely unobtainium for me. But yeah check out powder valley and don’t trust it to filter out the out of stock, it just filters out everything. I had checked there a few times prior and assumed that feature worked.

Also anybody ever used win 244? I’ve only loaded with bullseye, titegroup and power pistol so I have no idea what 244 is comparable to and i’m not thrilled i gotta develop new loads but I’m looking forward to hitting the range weekly again! I use 124gr round nose copper plated extreme bullets.

I’ve had easier time getting powder vs primers. Some 9mm powders like titegroup and N320 show up fairly regularly on my site alerts so I have been able to stick with my usual. You are 100% correct, PV has not figured out how to code a functional in-stock filter, I had to find a hack-a-round. 244 sounds like it should work well, but I don’t have any personal knowledge.

They(powder valley) had 8lb containers of Varget, H4350, CFE223, and a bunch of Ramshot. Website was a mess though and really slow. Most of what they had is now gone. Nice to at least see a decent shipment come in for once!

Use ammoseek. I’ve seen plenty in stock. It’s not the most ideal in most loads, but you can definitely get by with accurate No 5 and it’s been in stock at Midsouth shooters supply for a few days. Also, hodgdon has several powders suitable in stock. I’ve been buying locally though, with pretty good luck.

Where you been friend. Titegroup has been available pretty frequently since the non sense started. Granted I only use a pound every 3 months or so

The best thing about 9mm powder is that usually even a lb gets you a butt load of ammo if u don’t just fuck up a bunch

Hodgdon just literally had titegroup for sale on their website.
1 lb containers max of 5.
My five are half way to my home currently.

This subreddit has a discord server that will tell you when powder, primers, brass, bullets, ammo, guns, gun accessories etc are in stock. It is very helpful. Also you can ask complex reloading questions and get a response in minutes. The people on there have been so helpful to me it’s crazy. Look under this subreddit’s community info.

244 can basically do everything 231 can. It just winds up using a little less powder and gives you a little more velocity.

In my experience, it is a very dirty powder.

5gr of 244 is my max for 124gr bullets @ 1.15 coal (1280fps). And 4.5gr was a much more tame load (Factory max) . (1130 fps)
