    I’ve worked with turtles for the past 4 years. They can get quite curious of things in the water. Sometimes its to see if they can climb up, other times they’ve learned that humans can have food. Snappers in the water are actually super chill 95% of the time (99% if you just leave them alone). Fishermen are the reason you get cases of people being bit in the water, the turtles learn to hang out near docks because people toss their dead bait or fish guts in the water, so they see a splash and think food.

    Had one of those snag a 2 pound bass as I was reeling it in. I ripped the bass out of his mouth but it pissed me off so I jabbed him with my stake out pile. He’s still alive unfortunately

    Catch that sucker! Purge him out in a stock tank for a couple of weeks – turtle is good eating!

Now
