Have you tried out a 100# bow or heavier?

I keep being told by one of my friends, a bow hunter, about how historical and traditional archers are make up their draw weights. He acted like other bow-hunters agreed with his views, that any draw weight over 90 pounds is imaginary.
So, I was hoping other bow-hunters here could chip in with their personal experiences, and tell stories of when you tried out a 100# or heavier bow.
