Looks like Norinco ammo to me.

The markings around the primer are probably gonna be necessary to figure out who made the ammo but it looks like Norinco manufactured ammo

So for context my friend received an SKS with these rounds for free having discovered it a remodel and the owner having them in the previous owner of this firearm The SKS is a norinko manufactured rifle missing the spike bayonet. imported via Chinasports. I’m generally familiar with most cartridges but the fact that this looks like it’s copper on copper is odd to me

I have some old 7.62x54r rounds with similar materials that are Bulgarian; however, In order to identify specifics we’ll have to know what’s written on the back of the brass

Headstamp? Copper washed steel cased 7.62 is fairly ordinary.

Looks just like 1980’s Chinese steel core ball. Came on those same stripper clips too. Mildly corrosive. Head stamps were double-digit numbers at 12 and 6 o’clock.
