So for some context this is the Hodgdon website loading data for titegroup out of a rifle 18.5 inch barrel?
Looking to make plinking rounds with plates bullets why would fps drop from handgun to rifle with the same powder charge?

I worked up some 158 gr XTPs in 357 with 5.5 – 5.9 grains of TG. All shot well out of my 4″ SW65. I didn’t Chrono, so I don’t have any data numbers.

I’m sure your mileage will vary on loads like this, and I suspect for some they will definitely see increased velocity rather than decreased. Variables in chamber, barrel, brass, crimping, etc etc will have an impact that load data can’t account for
