I have a Big Fish 105 right now, I fished every weekend from August to October before its gotten chilly and prior engagements / weather has kept me from going out the last few weeks. I like the Big Fish, but its like paddling a barge. I’m fishing big flood control lakes in MS and Big Oxbows, 20,000 acres+. Will probably also take it down and do some redfishing on the coast, but that’s not the main purpose of it. If I’m paddling all out I can get about 3 mph on the Big Fish… I can’t cover alot of ground.
So I’m looking at switching to a pedal kayak, and I’m willing to spend some more money for my safety / comfort / mobility. I’m looking at doing a 12′. I have a 3500 Dually truck with a 10′ bed so I can bed load it until I can find / make a trailer.
I guess the real reason for posting this is, is it worth the extra money for the new 360. They are running $4,500+ new and I haven’t seen any used (yet) as they are obviously new on the market. I can pick up PA 12’s with 180 Mirage for $2,200-$2,500ish range. Is it that much of an upgrade? Trying to decide if I want to start smoothing it over with the wife and getting some honest opinions on if the 360 is $2,000 better than the 180.
