I’m trying to build an Iraq War rifle clone, but I don’t know if I should do an M16A4 or an M4 carbine. An M4 would be easier to build and more comfortable for me, but I really wanna stay accurate to history. M4s were used in Iraq, but you see the M16 much more often in footage. Help?

GuestJune 13, 2021 at 4:15 amIf you don’t have an AR yet then go with what you are most comfortable with.
If this is your 8th gun that will stay in a safe for 50 years then go with a M16A4 build.

GuestJune 13, 2021 at 4:15 amIf you only want one I can say I shoot my M4 more than my A4, but if you already have a bunch of 14.5”/16” rifles maybe skip the M4.
Both were used in high numbers, just depends on what branch you are looking at. Early war marine footage will be covered in A4s.
