    Looks like you barely went through the anodizing and the machining marks are still present. I’d go a hair deeper until you have a smooth ring all the way around the face. It doesn’t have to cover the entire thickness, just the circumference.

    I lap all of mine the same way. I try to go for full shine but not any more than that. The more shine, the more surface area of your barrel is resting up against the face of the upper. Once you get to that point, stop, you you don’t go too much shorter and reduce thread amount or worse, risking screwing up headspace. Never heard of that happening but it could happen. Don’t forget to clean the face of that and the threads with some nail polish remover if you have any, just to help remove any of the grit compound you can’t tell is still there

    You are probably ok but I’d personally like to see a little more bearing area on the top. Run your finger up and down on the top part with the black showing. If you can feel a ridge, mount it as it is. The intention is to dress the face, not machine it down.
