    In a word: yes.

    We throw it in ammo cans with desiccants to try and keep moisture and oxygen out. Guess what vacuum sealing does. We’re shooting surplus Soviet ammo that was in “spam cans” because that stored ammo keeps out moisture and oxygen. Guess what vacuum sealing does.

    I went nuclear this year after constantly fighting rust in my muzzle loader and vacuum sealed the whole scoped barrel assembly in a long bag to keep out oxygen; hopefully when I crack it out in a couple months it’ll be clean.
