GuestApril 1, 2021 at 3:54 pmWtf does Illinois know about reducing gun violence? Their position and opinion is worthless based on gun violence statistics.

GuestApril 1, 2021 at 3:54 pmBut the vast majority of those people responsible for said gun violence aren’t even paying FOID fees to begin with…

This has nothing to do with anything for those confused except increasing revenue.
Double the price and halving the duration brings in 4xs the money.
Illinois is beyond broke folks. My favorite part is where they lied and said the revenue generated would go to help those with mental health issues.
No. No it won’t. It’s going to pensioners. -

Illegal posessors commit crime. They don’t care if they’re supposed to get fingerprints or background check.

> legislation would require that any change in ownership of a firearm be conducted through a licensed gun dealer. That includes inheriting firearms from a deceased family member or if two FOID cardholders consent to a loan between them.
>The bill would also add another act in which a cardholder could have their privileges removed. In addition to threats or acts of physical violence to someone or themselves identified by a medical official, school or law enforcement, it includes any “act that is intended to cause or create a risk and does cause or create a risk of death or great bodily harm to one or more persons.”
Might as well declare gun ownership illegal — they have already either underfunded the FOID program or some bureaucrat has intentionally decided to grind the FOID program to a halt (or both). This is adding work to the ISP which will extend wait times.
UBCs (including a loan) and red flag laws? The criminal to lawful gun owner ratio is going to be even higher folks.
