Quite impressed by these so far. The glass is by far the best glass I have ever seen in LRF binos.Successfully lazed things out to 1800 yards.

Interface with the Kestrel meter and HUD was very easy to set up. I used the RRS cinch (cheaper polymer one) to mount to my tripod, and it worked great).

Bino setup is pretty simple and easier to do in the app, but doing it via the binos is still not bad.

The only thing that is a bit of a hassle is that the Geovids come out of the box with “Applied Ballistics Ultralight”, which neuters the ballistic corrections provided by the binos to 875 yards (this is due to European laws not allowing ballistic solvers to provide solutions beyond 800 meters).

The binos will of course laze past 875, but out of the box they will not give you an elevation call.

This can be solved in two ways, one is via an in-app upgrade of $150 that gives you the full Applied Ballistics (Which provides ballistic solutions out to 5,000 meters). Leica did this to get around EU laws, as you are essentially loading US-made software onto the system, not EU-made software.

The alternative is to have the binos linked to your Kestrel with AB, when connected to the kestrel, they provide elevation calls at any distance you can laze.

All in all, very nice piece of kit!

I have []( 8×42 and the exit pupils are perfect. I tried also on 10×32 and I cannot use them, too much focus from me to reduce movement in order to have a good sight. It is a matter of geometry, diameters and distances. On tripod they will work ok maybe, but on the field, this is not my type 🙂 Anyway they are Leica and all my optical products, binoculars, scopes, cameras and lenses are Leica and they are top quality, all of them. BTW the laser is one of the best in the market, very low consumption, I change my battery after 2 years of extensive usage, and just to make sure that is new, otherwise for sure could last much longer. Also I have the original holder from Leica binoculars, with 1/4 thread for tripods, very soft, light, and perfectly fit for all the binoculars range.

In the end please enjoy your binoculars, welcome to the club, and happy moments wherever and whenever you may use it!

I have the dumb version of these, and they’re freaking amazing. Not sure if yours have better glass than the non “pro” series but I agree with mine being the best glass I’ve ever looked through.

Made me a leica fan forever, now I want one of their rifle Optics.

I have a brand new pair of the 10x32s and they’re great… except that the rangefinder is absolutely not functioning right.

Ranging on a cliff face about 100 meters away gave me 68, 55, 44, 27, 67 meters in successive trials. I’ve *never* successfully ranged anything over about 600 meters out. Guess they’ll have to go back to Leica. 🙁

Really impressive glass though and I love the form factor.

I don’t need LRF binos immediately, but I am tempted to get the Geovid Pro 8×32.

How does the glass compare to other non-LRF binoculars?

The laser isn’t as snappy as Swaros but you’re right, very nice binos. Been a Geovid fan and owner since gen2…never had a paid of gen1 boatanchors. I don’t use the AB features but I think that’s a bunch of shenanigans. EU can suck it.
