  • Moving from NJ to AZ, how do I legally transport my pistol?

Title says all, I am currently living in New Jersey and I own a handgun, I will be shipping my vehicle and will also ship my personal belongings (separate). Is it okay to store my handgun with my personal belongings as it is being shipped? Is there anything I have to do when transporting a firearm?

A lot of moving companies do not transport firearms and will not insure them. I assume you are flying to your destination and it sounds like you only own one firearm so why not check in your firearm when you fly? flying with firearms is easy, purchase a sturdy hard sided case that will resist prying a part by hand when locked. No cheap flimsy cases. A $50 Harbor Frieght Apache is fine. The gun must be unloaded and no gun parts, guns nor ammo can go in carry-on. When you check in your bags declared the airline that you would like to check a firearm. Allow extra time to do so.

First thing you’re gonna need is a “value sized” tub of lubricant. The butt kind.

Now, your gonna feel some pressure, but just work your way past it. Try not to cough or sneeze while driving.

    Good luck.
