GuestMay 15, 2021 at 10:50 pmI love set ups under 100$. Not everyone can afford a bass boat and all the newest gear to load into a boat. I’ve been bank fishing for years and as much as I love fishing I still can’t afford even a Jon boat. Keep them lines tight buddy.

GuestMay 15, 2021 at 10:50 pmCherrywood wasn’t a bad rod, but it’s heavy and I much prefer graphite. If you have a gander outdoors near you, pick up one of their 71%HYDRO graphite casting rods. They’re $20 and great for the price.

GuestMay 15, 2021 at 10:50 pmGear doesn’t make the angler. My happiest days were those spent fishing with a greenheart rod and an old centre pin reel. Your gear is more than adequate and I wish you happy days and tight lines.

GuestMay 15, 2021 at 10:50 pmYou don’t need expensive gear. I outfish my $$$ friends in their Ranger Boats all the time with my shitty old rods w/replacement tips, 3yr old fire line and beat up SmokerCraft… love it. Now that I think about it… half my poles are no longer the original length. Can’t even remember when I bought something new. Time on the water and cold 🍺 with good friends and family is way more important. Cheers

GuestMay 15, 2021 at 10:50 pmHaha hey! I have that same spinning reel/rod! Got it on Amazon prime day for like $40 with a starter tackle kit. My first rod since I was a kid.

GuestMay 15, 2021 at 10:50 pmIf it’s cheap, but it works, well it works! I found my fishing pole in a bush near a lake and my sons Paw Patrol rod has caught it’s fair share of fish itself.

GuestMay 15, 2021 at 10:50 pmFish don’t care how expensive your gear is. You can also have the most expensive gear but if you don’t have the finesse or skill fish simply won’t bite.

GuestMay 15, 2021 at 10:50 pmI had a Berkeley Cherrywood for years. I mostly ocean fished off the rocks with it. It got dragged through trees, brush, rocks, and everything else. The only thing that made it give up was my own dumb ass stepping on it and cracking it. I still fished it for the rest of the day!

GuestMay 15, 2021 at 10:50 pmYou do not need expensive gear to catch fish.
Marketing made ppl believe that. Fishing is full of gimmicks, and bullshit to make you buy stuff you don’t need.
