I would like to have a VFG on my AR pistol, but I don’t want to form 1 it. Can I use a red dot riser mounted to the bottom of my handguard?

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it legal if the OAL is over 26” with an a5 buffer tube extension?

Why you no angle fore grip or hand stop?

You want the actual law? A “pistol” is “designed or redesigned” to be fired one-handed. When you add a foregrip or hand stop of any kind, you’re advertising the fact that you’re redesigning it to be fired two-handed, which makes it not a pistol.

You want to play games with opinion letters? The ATF has at one point thrown up its hands and said that anything other than a 90 degree foregrip on a “pistol” is something they didn’t intend to prosecute. Decide for yourself whether putting an accessory on your range toy is worth rolling the dice on whether they’d be willing to prosecute you under the current Executive.
