Have you tried holding your gun sideways? I think it makes your gun more dangerous too.

Rotate the rod. If the place the rod gets close changes. Its a bent rod. If the spot stays the same the setup is wrong in some way.

SiCo Osprey9 on a brand new AeroPrecision 9mm barrel. My guess is the indexing spring/spring retainer is jacked up. Any thoughts?

Now is the piston clean, or “sorta clean”? Mine sometimes has carbon buildup between the piston and the technical first expansion chamber, and would make that grind-y sound you’re describing. Possible that the piston is *just* off, like that

here’s what mine looked like when it it fell apart

    https://i.redd.it/wvmc7lf1jtd01.jpg

    here’s how they are assembled

barrel threads onto piston, piston goes into encapsulator/blast baffle, spring retainer collar goes around piston and threads into encapsolator/blast baffle, encapsulator/blast baffle threads into baffle core and holds entire thing together and everything is threaded in the same direction.

my guess is something wrong where the piston interfaces with the encapsulator/blast baffle since it’s the only thing not threaded into eachother. could even be the piston since your a2 is fine. if you have a shop that sells pistons you could ask to try another piston.

since it’s going on an ar9 you may just want to run a spacer and not a spring so that’s a trip to the silencer store anyway

How does it mount to a fixed barrel?

If it doesnt touch, send it. Warranty is a thang. Ive shot worse, personally, on my rifles.
