    Hey guys,

So I’ve decided that as a Polish American firearms enthusiast, I’m going to treat myself to a Radom.
The thing i can’t decide on is if i want to go old school 7.62, or if i want to go new school NATO Poland and go 5.56.

On the one hand, it’s an AK, it should be 7.62
On the other hand, i like the idea of what 5.56 symbolizes for Poland and Radom.

    Curious what you guys think.

    Thanks.

    UPDATE: I YOLO’d the 5.56 Beryl

Thanks for all the input guys!

This being your first AK, it would be a sin to get one that wasn’t 7.62

I hope by “Radom” you aren’t considering something from Pioneer Arms, cause they’re junk and advertise their stuff as “Radom” to try and fool people into thinking they’re getting something made at FB Radom (like a Beryl). Just putting that out there.

I vote 5.56. BUT just so you know, Atlantic has Polish (11) kit builds with FB Radom barrels for sale right now

here is my opinion for the beryl 5.56, however galil ace gen 2 i would do in
7.62 13”. just a idea for a next purchase ;). but before you buy ether of those, everyone’s first ak should be a traditional akm in 7.62 imo, after that if one likes the platform enough then they should consider a more modernized option like a galil, beryl, sam (not my first choice), or a custom build by someone like fuller, RD, or meridian defense. however like I said, all this is my opinion, which doesn’t. (sorry this is so long, i got high earlier and now i can’t stop tying lol)

I would get the 5.56 beryl and then think about a 7.62 WBP.

A 5.56 beryl looks natural with it’s blacked out look and a 7.62 WBP looks natural with it’s wood furniture.

As someone who comes from the AR side, 556 WBP was what I purchased. It’s still being shipped, but very excited. Means I don’t have to procure different calibers and can just contine to buy my 556/223 and bring both ARs and an AK together and have fun (still have to procure different mags though). Imo, it’s all based on where you are and what’s easily available. For me, picking up a caliber that I already predominately use and have it be AKM patterned was the way to go to start out in the AK game and get my feet wet.

So I also am a polish American and recently got my first Ak platform in 7.62 and I am basically on the verge of liquidating all my ARs and converting to the lords caliber. Get a 7.62 man. You won’t regret it

Don’t sleep on 5.56. You can fire whatever bullshit .223 or 5.56 you get through it, for cheap
