Hey Y’all,
I am interested in building an AR15, but due to my smaller frame, I feel a pistol build would fit me much better than a rifle build. I plan on using a 10.5″ barrel. I want to have both 556 and 300 blk uppers. It would appear that a 80% poly lower with frame and tooling included will cost the same as a standard lower (adding transfer fees at my local shops, total would be around $70). Will a poly lower hold up to 300blk? Is it a super horrible idea to buy one?
Edit: Somewhat critical detail. It would be an 80% lower vs having my father give me a finished aluminum (which is legal in my state…. have a birthday coming up). Not of age to buy a stripped lower.
