I have been reading around about how it is recommended to have a minimum barrel length of 10.5 inches when suppressing an AR15 (atleast from what I found). I’m looking to pick up an LWRC IC-PSD which is a piston driven 8.5 inch barrel setup. Would I have the same concerns when suppressing it or would the issues be negated since it is a piston driven setup? If there are the same concerns, are there suppressors made for the short barrels of less than 10 inches? Thank for any advice.

Check out rugged suppressors as they have no concern for minimum barrel length on most likely all of their suppressors.

Blast baffle erosion will probably be a thing for cans on an SBR. You could run a brake to give it something to chew on first. Some cans are supposed to be stronger in this area, but make sure.

ETA: Gas system isn’t the problem. It’s the explodey part.

Many cans are fine with that barrel length, you’ll be fine. You will lose significant ballistic performance going that short with 5.56. That’s really where the 10-10.5″ thing is really important. Under that you start cutting velocity quickly.

Its a pressure thing. Shorter barrel more pressure. Look for a suppressor rated for the barrel length you want to run.

I know that the Deadair Sandman line has no minimum barrel length
