I’m not very familiar with aimpoint, why do you mount it so tall?

Serious question. I assume the optic clears the front sight entirely from your field of view?

I LOVE the tall mounts! All my red dots are above 1.93″(several at 2.26″) and my LVPOs are at 2.04″. I can pick up the dot/reticle very quickly and on top of that, with pinched nerves in my neck, I don’t have crane my head to get behind the optic.
Anyone who hasn’t tried them, SHOULD. Might not be for you, but it’s worth a try. They are spectacular for running NVG and gas masks, as that was their initial design requirement.
Awesome gun, I sure hope I’ll have one of these in the future!

My brother bought an SP5 at Euro Optics, we tried a bunch of different mount and optic combinations there, the front sight hood made things difficult. He’s still running open sights. The only way I can see to do it is absolute co-witness with a really low mount, they didn’t have the stuff in stock to make that work with Aimpoint M5
