I’ve been shooting from bipods and off hand most of the time so far. Also tried 2 leg triggerstick, leaning on tree, alpine-stick-yoga-pose, even camera tripod once. Question being, what do you use for hunting when prone isn’t possible but you need more accuracy than off hand. Lets say there’s never a good tree when you need one and the support needs to be possible to carry for some distance so 6lbs tripod isn’t an option.
Also to technique, how do you stabilize your body behind the rifle, especially standing up? I tried leaning heavily on tripod and the wobble is pretty bad. Despite some stuff on youtube I got best result by holding rifle like I would without support but the tripod is too slow and heavy for anything else but setting up in a blind that for some reason doesn’t have better support.
Sitting position on ground seems hard to set up and kneeling positions don’t really work if you need to wait for the shot long time. Once spent 45min for clear shot in a group, when I got up I nearly fell on my face as my legs got numb.
Idk what kind of accuracy should I even expect here but I think it would be good idea to pick one and practice a lot so that’s where your feedback is needed.
