Just bought my first can! Bought an FDE sandman and just did all the paperwork today. I just want to make sure I did everything right today. I bought the singleshot trust for my new can and Silencershop told me to file it as an individual and that that trust option was for a regular NFA trust. The guy at the gun store said I should do it as a trust. I ended up doing what silencershop said and filed it as an individual. Is everything okay and all set?
My order on silencershop shop says
(Form 3: awaiting submission)
(Form 4: (singleshot): awaiting review)So everything looks right. This is my first time just wanted to make sure I did everything correctly so there are no hold ups on the already long wait time.
Most of my confusion comes from the fact that on the registration on silencershops website it says that they trust options is for “filing for all trusts that are NOT the single shot trust”

GuestMay 16, 2021 at 5:22 pmThere might be some terminology issues here. I would contact silencer shop and make sure it’s being done on a trust. The benefits of having a trust are huge and you can’t just swap from individual to trust without doing the whole process over and paying another $200

GuestMay 16, 2021 at 5:22 pmThe single shot trust is a trust. Your gun store guy may have meant that you should have used a gun style NFA trust that’ll be more than just the single shot? The only fast way I’ve found for a suppressor is the Form 1 method, where you end up making your own after approval. That took about 60 days start to finish from submission and research.
If you used the single shot, it’ll be fine. It’s still a trust. There is no efile for the Form 4, so the wait time is essentially the same for either method. Good luck.

Also what’s the money on an FDE sandman?

GuestMay 16, 2021 at 5:22 pmBy the looks of it, it seems its all good. SS does it all for you and they will let you know if they need anything from you.

GuestMay 16, 2021 at 5:22 pmSST is still a trust and can have people added to it but it files to the ATF as individual.

GuestMay 16, 2021 at 5:22 pmI go through SS too, the first time I used them i was very confused with their wording as well. I made a few changes after my purchases before they submitted my form 4 without any issues.
They can change anything you want within minutes of calling them, short phone ques and they awsner emails very fast during business hours.
