GuestJune 13, 2021 at 12:24 amYep, it sounds like you have an astigmatism. It’s extremely common and does weird things when viewing a red dot.

GuestJune 13, 2021 at 12:24 amYou have an astigmatism. People with an astigmatism cannot see crisp red dots without corrective lenses.

GuestJune 13, 2021 at 12:24 amYou probably have astigmatism. An EOTech might be crisper for you. Just incase, make sure you are focusing on the target and not the dot. That will clear the dot up as well.

GuestJune 13, 2021 at 12:24 amTisms fuckin suck bro, It should be better when you get out in the daylight and go shoot, Some are worse than others but it doesn’t bother me all that much.
Tisms are also the same reason when you’re looking at lights are night and stuff rays come off of them, I thought everyone saw that but it’s an Astigmatism thing.

GuestJune 13, 2021 at 12:24 amWell, I’ll add that it may not be the tism. Brightness may be up too high… red dots tend to blob like you describe if they’re too bright for the ambient lighting.

GuestJune 13, 2021 at 12:24 amI found out I had an astigmatism the same way. Made my friend look through a dot I had purchased and mounted on a rifle. Looked like a star exploding to me. He reported a perfect dot though.
I got a lvpo instead for one, a vortex spitfire for another. both of them are good, but I got glasses and they are very crisp after that.
I felt motion sick occasionally for a few days after getting the new glasses.
Tough break, hope you have good luck going forward.

GuestJune 13, 2021 at 12:24 amThere are some red dots that are astigmatism friendly. Or do what i do once you get it sighted in just aim the Starburst on it and send it haha

GuestJune 13, 2021 at 12:24 amDefinitely astigmatism. Weird trick that helps: if you have a setup that uses cowitnessed rear BUIS, running them with the dot helps with the blur. Don’t know why.
