Soon to be first time AR purchaser, considering Springfield Armory Edge, any opinions on their line or that model in particular?
I’m not really interested in building a unit from scratch, I saw they had a $1300 price point that had a really nice trigger and weight reductions and a good compensator, ambi safety, etc. It looked like a solid starting point but wanted to hear from this crowd any opinions for or against the edge or company before I plunge in. Thanks in advance.

I saw a bunch of positive feedback in various youtube videos about it and everyone seemed impressed with the upgraded features straight from the factory. But those are youtube folks, would rather hear from this crowd.

Imma be that guy who says slap a BCM upper on an Aero Lower 🤷‍♂️. Anyone can drop in a drop in trigger if you want a better one 👍

Don’t support Springfield ever. It’s a fine rifle for what it is and I’m sure it will run great. You definitely seem to have made up your mind at this point.
I would rather have a BCM, Sons of Liberty Gun Works, IWI, LWRC, etc

Regardless of how you feel about Springfield as a company, they make fine rifles. Is it worth 1400, not really. I’d get a BCM 100% of the time

Springfield can blow a goat. They supported gun control in Illinois, because it would have increased they’re sales. I don’t remember the exact law, but they will always be dead to me.

Springfield only “supported gun control” to monopolize the market in Illinois. ANY company would have made that business decision. NRA does NOTHING for the gun community but still people flock to support and donate. Just remember, no matter what you buy, there is always someone out there who will talk shit. So just buy what YOU like

Stay away from springfield is what i hear. I’d recommend IWI Zion or a ruger mpr

Bro for $1300 get the IWI Zion. It’s the best rifle for the money. Plus, you’ll have some money left over to throw on a nice optic and maybe even a trigger

My Springfield saint constantly failed me. Found multiple people with all the same issues as mine. I lost faith in them. I would like Andro for the price and performance. Springfield isn’t the original company. S&W M&P also cool. If you got big $$$ lots of good options.
