SureFire RC2 or Mini2 on Legacy Flash Hider (FH556-212A)?

I’ve been told it’s possible to use current generation SureFire silencers (556 RC2 or Mini2) on the legacy muzzle devices (FH556-212A); only downside is that the silencers won’t index – and thus, may rotate.

1. Anyone have first hand experience with this?
2. If so, does it actually work (safely)?
3. If so, how aggressive is this free rotation?
4. If so, does the above rotation affect POI as it rotates?

I have a older, very nice barrel (with -212A device pinned and welded) that now has sentimental value… and is more accurate than I’ll ever be. Would prefer not to risk a muzzle hack job. Any advice appreciated.
