I’d like to see some stats for how many of these things were employed vs how many of these things caused at least 1 opposition casualty. They seem like an almost guaranteed pay off for urban warfare, which is horrifying.

I’m pretty sure there’s a segment from a western reporter who was in one the armoured vehicles almost directly next to this SVBIED when it exploded. I can’t recall which agency it was, but maybe somebody else can recall. Just searched for it but I can’t find it. Definitely worth watching if anybody can recall the source, the angle from the ground is something else.

Holy shit. I cant find any pictures of Mosul that isnt just Ruins. How long has the fighting been going on there ?

With enough explosives, anything can be annihilated.
However most vbieds are not capable of destroying a tank. Despite causing large explosions, they do not have a high enough energy density to penetrate armor.
Armor penetration requires very focused energy to break through, which is why high explosives aren’t very good at it.

Did that thing take out a main battle tank ?
So with enough explosives, a detonation close to a tank will anihilate it ? -
Amazing how devastating those bombs are.

At 0:19 it looks like at least a couple people sensed something was up and took off. It makes me wonder how many false alarms people have to deal with and run like mad then nothing happens. Do their buddies laugh at them or do they just all nervously agree that it was best to beat feet just in case?

It must be a Base or Outpost of some kind since you can see about 10-12 vehicles neatly parked and then BOOMBALA BOOMBALA

I cannot recommend this movie enough. Beyond the combat it has a very human side as well, and I think it’s one of the first movies I’ve seen in a while in which Middle Easterners actually feel like **real** Middle Easterners. The characters in the police squad around which the movie revolves just feel like real people.
Despite the all-Arabic cast, I was surprised to find out that the movie is actually an American production, with an American scriptwriter-director. -
God i forget the guys name but im pretty sure theres footage from this on the ground. That badass british dude who does wartime reporting was in one of those vehicles and lived

I wonder if the guy on the top far left of the video survived the explosion… It looked like he was just a outside the fireball radius.
