Talk me out of an M11/9 MG

So all these tricked out Lage M11/9s have got me seriously considering picking one up. Like most posts of these types I’m sure most folks will encourage rather than discourage, and I’m fine with that. The positives are obvious, despite it being just a fancy range toy.
What I’m really looking for is what are the negatives of the platform? What are the issues that you will face after you get the firearm? I’ve seen lots of stuff about magazines, but what else should I be aware of?

Pretty sure I had an out of battery detonation my last range conjugal. Not uncommon for open bolt systems though, I didn’t notice any real damage but I didn’t continue to fire it after it happened. if you have the money and want one there’s really no reason not to get one

The m11/9 is a pretty reliable design. The fire control group is only a few parts and comes apart in a couple minutes. The receiver itself is strong and can be easily fixed. Not to mention the flexibility of the Lage uppers. Get ‘em while they’re still somewhat “affordable”!

my homie got an out of spec Lage upper and had a hard time getting it fixed, but they eventually got it right

They are a lot of fun and very customizable thanks to Lage. The Lage uppers shoot really well. I love dumping 71 round drums in my M11/9 and M11A1 with Suomi drum uppers at the same time. Very soft recoil and controllable.

The lage uppers are kinda dumb. Buy the Mac and enjoy the little garbage can that hoses bullets for what it is. Use the money you would’ve spent on the pig lipstick on ammo and just enjoy it.
Machine guns are consistently good investments.
