GuestMay 17, 2021 at 5:51 pmA set of first light fuse top and bottom zip offs, and a furnace bottom for cold mornings will run you around 300 total. Shoukd cover you for 90% in terms of bqse only.

GuestMay 17, 2021 at 5:51 pmBase layer meaning just the layer next to your skin, right?
I’m all wool for my base layers. Lots of good options out there. You don’t have to buy big name hunting clothes to get good stuff. I go with a mix of Duckworth, Icebreaker, Minus33, Smartwool, Pearl Izumo and even LL Bean for various tops and bottoms. Shop the discount places for neutral colors. The only one I worry about getting in camo is I really like
Socks are mostly Darn Tough and Smartwool.

GuestMay 17, 2021 at 5:51 pmI’m a huge fan of underarmor gear (cold gear if it gets cold enough). It’s breathable so if you open up your outer layers it lets air in and can cool you off, but with a layer to block the wind it retains heat better than most anything else I’ve tried personally.

GuestMay 17, 2021 at 5:51 pmI’ve been using merino wool/polyesther mix. Either nu-yarn type with polyester core or aclima woolnet. Woolnet is especially good for situations where you need to haul ass and then sit still, move then sit through the day and don’t really have time to remove or add layers. Polyester in the mix helps for the cloth to keep it’s shape when it gets wet and also dry out faster after sweating.
