Drive west to San louie pass. Launch and fish the bay side. Wear a fucking live jacket at all time the current kills people there almost daily in the summer time.

Ah, my home turf! Shore fishing, drive all the way down the east end of seawall to the dead end. They call this area Cherry hill. Then walk out to the north and there are lots of rock outcroppings. People are always there, but plenty of room to have your own little spot. Someone else mentioned San Luis pass on the far west end. Good fishing, but rip tides, people die there regularly, I think they don’t want you wade fishing there anymore because of the rip tide. Texas City dike: good flat flounder spot just at the start of the dike on the north side. Easy to walk out in, get your feet wet. Or drive all the way to the end of the dike, sit on the rocks and hit deeper water for redfish and speckled trout. Watch how the little Asian ladies are fishing. They are always there and raking in extra fish for the local fish markets.

SLP is solid but don’t fish near the bridge – strong currents will kill you!
Stay on the island side, where it curves away from the bridge and walk south, there are GUTS that are fish highways
An easy artificial rig- popping cork- 18” leader of 20 lb test and a 1/8 oz jig head with a gulp new penny shrimp…. just toss it and pop it in to you slowly or learn to use a top water
Also the web site 2coolfishing is a popular forum for the area

Definitely stick to the blue and eschew the green.
