I won’t be doing any upgrades until I’ve put several hundred rounds downrange. Then I will consider some upgrades such as a light, an extended mag release and an extended slide lock. I don’t really care what the gun looks like and probably won’t be doing any cosmetic upgrades.

I’m getting the gun to have fun at the range, and if it was just me I would just keep it locked up at home. But my wife would prefer to have it ready for self defense, so that’s what we’ll do. We got her a holster for her side of the bed. It will be on her side because she’s farther from the door, and could potentially just drop down to the floor and come up with the weapon. If I’m in bed, I won’t be in her crossfire because of where the door is located, and if I’m anywhere else in the house, the intruder would have already had to have gotten by me to get to the bedroom door.

Any self defense scenario I envision involves very close range shooting inside the house, so probably point shooting. For that reason, I probably won’t upgrade the sights to tritium, unless someone knows a reason why I should. So should I?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice or information!

I’d go steel sights at least. I don’t think Glock is selling their steel sights at the moment but I put them on my G27 and I’m happy with them.

I am probably in the minority here, but I kept the stock plastic sights, bought 2 bottles of tetos model paint and blacked out the rear and painted filled the front hole with florescent orange. Cheap but it works for me

I’d go with Ameriglo hackathorns. They have a tritium front if u really need it, but a bright orange ring around it for (in my opinion) easier sighting at the range.

Get a light…a good light, not an o light. Night sights are the biggest scam in the industry.
