  • Transducer arm mount positioning

Hey guys, just need some quick advice. I recently acquired a Lowrance Elite 4 DSI fish finder with the transducer already mounted on an arm to extend over the side of the kayak. I plan on mounting it as far forward on my rail system to clear any paddle strokes.
Is there anything I need to know about positioning of the transducer to get accurate readings? I’m fairly new to the fish finder game.
    Thanks for the help!
