Can anybody here give me an estimate on a firearm from just pics of the outside furniture? The reason I ask is because my local gun shop has an ar-10 that is obviously custom built and was pawned off to them, for $3500. It has a short thick steel barrel, a huge muzzle break and an adjustable stock with an adjustable cheek rest and seems to be all cerekoted. The only thing I could tell was cheap was the scope from just looking through it but I’m not great when it comes to recognizing the value of individual parts at a glance, could anyone help me?

$3,500 is a fucking lot of money. That’s SCAR level money there.

Based on what you have described it as, it sounds like a “CuStOm” built AR10 which is probably overpriced nonsense

Not including optics you’d be pretty hard pressed to build a $3500 AR-10, would have to literally top tier parts for every single part

If you have to ask, it’s not a good deal.

“Custom” AR-10s are very hard build from parts due to a lack of standardized specifications for the platform. It’s easy to spend a lot of money on a rifle that doesn’t run. I wouldn’t spend that kind of money unless I was building it myself.

$3500 is a lot, sounds like the LGS is trying to take advantage of you.
