    Hey all
I’ve been interested for a while in getting involved with the SRA. My main interest here is simply learning some basic firearms use with like minded comrades – I have absolutely no experience at all with firearms, but would like to gain some knowledge and practical experience.
However, to be honest, I’ve been put off by the idea of openly joining an armed socialist organization. Most of US history shows that the state does not treat armed leftist organizations particularly well, and I’m genuinely concerned about surveillance, persecution, etc.
It seems like the main way to get involved is by joining and paying dues; I’m totally fine with paying dues, but I felt a bit paranoid about having the SRA on my credit card statement
What do yall think? Are there ways to get involved while keeping my information a bit more private? Or am I just being paranoid, and I should suck it up and join nationally?
Fyi, I’m in the broad NYC area
